Seline Skoug – Chair, Seline is a career healthcare professional with experience as a clinic nurse, hospital administration consultant and the leader of a national non-profit serving breast cancer survivors. She holds a B.S. in community health from SUNY Old Westbury and an M.S. in hospital administration from Simmons College. Her professional career began at a company providing Joint Commission/NCQA consulting, strategic planning, and joint services to hospitals and nursing homes in the greater Boston area. Following that, she spent 9 years as founding Executive Director of Casting for Recovery, building the start-up nonprofit into a national program, serving women in 27 states, the UK and Ireland, powered by a network of 2,000 plus volunteers. She has also led the Southern Vermont Arts Center in Manchester, Vermont, first as a consultant and then as Executive Director. During her tenure, she significantly increased annual giving, established profitable programs, and worked with the board to build the capacity of the organization. She helped establish the Battenkill Community Health Center in Arlington, was chair of the Northshire Nonprofit Network and served as a member of the Steering Committee for the Vermont Cancer Coalition: Vermonters Taking Action Against Cancer (VTAAC), helping define the cancer action plan for the state of Vermont. More recently, she stepped away from nonprofit leadership to become a Licensed Practical Nurse in the Southwestern Vermont Health Care network, although she continues to serve the community as Board Chair of Bennington County Meals on Wheels and as an Advanced EMT with the Arlington Rescue Squad. In her spare time, you can find Seline out taking photographs of the landscape surrounding her home in Arlington, in her garden, or taking long walks with her husband Dave and their two dogs, Mikey and Nikko.

Thea Kelly – Vice Chair, is a financial management and reporting consultant who works with local Vermont clients; most notably J. K. Adams Company Inc.  Prior to moving to Vermont six years ago, Thea worked in the investment banking industry as a Financial Control and Regulatory Reporting expert.  Thea has worked with many not-for-profits over the course of her career.  She is a passionate advocate for nutritious healthy eating and believes that is best achieved by eating fresh, not processed foods.  She believes her ability to make a difference in this area is through the Meals on Wheels program.  Her other passions is advocating for literacy in both children and adults.  She is currently the President of the Board of Trustees of The Dorset Village Library.  She lives in Dorset with her 11-year-old son who always keeps her in the “Present Moment.”

 

Karen Feldt has been a Gerontological Nurse Practitioner for 31 years and is a former professor of nursing at Seattle University and University of Minnesota.  She currently works as a Clinical Educator for Matrix Medical Network. She brings years of experience working with clinical issues of older adults. She is a recent transplant to the Bennington Area, and lives with her husband in Pownal, VT.

  Kathy Hipple is co-founder of Noosphere Marketing, which offers visionary marketing for visionary organizations. She recently earned an MBA in sustainability at Marlboro. She is passionate environmental and social issues and Sustainable and Responsible Investing.  She splits her time between Bennington, Vermont, and Brooklyn, New York. She has three children, two of whom are grown and live in California, and one who will finish high school this year.

  Katherine Keys has been the market manager for the Bennington Farmers’ market for 10 years and has been the director of the Youth Agricultural Program for nine years. The Youth Agricultural Program takes at-risk youth onto their N. Bennington farm and teaches agricultural skills, team and self esteem building. She has a passion for local food and donates many pounds of produce to Meals on Wheels from the farm every year. The youth from the program donate time in the MOW kitchen every year helping to prep produce and do whatever is needed. This has forged a nice relationship between the two programs. She lives in Shaftsbury and has two grown sons.
